The Man On The Moon
2 Norfolk Street, CAMBRIDGE
CB1 2LD
Review...........The Man in the Moon is a pub of two halves, a quiet local during the day that becomes a busy music venue popular with a young crowd in the evenings. There are two bars, one that is always open, the other only used when a band is playing.
The main bar is cheap and cheerful, with plain floors and wooden furniture. It is dominated by a pool table in the centre of the room and the pubs' pool team are very successful (there are something like four dozen trophies on display). The beer here is a normal mix of lagers and a couple of ales, and they have Guinness and cider on draught.
What the Man is most famous for is live music, and the far side of the building houses a small performance area. It is one of the few places around that local acts or unsigned groups can get a gig, and is worth supporting. There is a wide range of music and performers on stage each week - check out the large pinboards in the main pub to see what's on.Normally open late.
